UK IT Awards – Emerging Technology of the Year winner

We are delighted to announce we have been selected as winners of the Emerging Technology of the Year Award at the UK IT Industry Awards. The awards, presented by BCS and Computing, are the UK’s most prestigious IT industry awards and act as a benchmark for outstanding performance across the UK IT industry.

Our award entry was judged across five criteria, including the ability to consistently meet objectives, demonstrate a quality approach, exceed expectations of customers, use innovative approaches and demonstrate quantifiable performance improvements. The Emerging Technology of the Year award is awarded to an innovative new development or service that delivers a new class of solution or type of benefit.

FYLD’s application is already delivering transformative results, most notably a significant reduction in paperwork and site visits, leading to far greater efficiencies across field operations.

The UK IT Awards 2020 ceremony took place virtually this year, with host Ed Byrne kicking off the evening by acknowledging the role IT has played in keeping organisations and individuals connected during the pandemic.

Accepting the award on behalf of FYLD, Stephen Dickson of SGN said: “Insight and expertise from our engineers has been at the heart of the product’s development, and accepting this award on behalf of FYLD, I would just like to congratulate everybody involved in the project.”

We entered the awards to showcase our achievements with FYLD, which allows field workers to capture data and record evidence through video, photo, audio and text. Using machine learning and natural language processing, FYLD converts this unstructured information into a list of hazards and controls, giving managers real-time visibility of site conditions and field teams, regardless of their location.
